Happy Flag Day!  Here in the US, we celebrate Flag Day on June 14. This  commemorates the adoption of the UNITED STATES flag, which happened on this day in 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.  Fly it high!



For the folks that may live off the mountain, you may be getting some June Gloom that Mother Nature is providing. But up here, we're just about perfect in the weather department. So, come on up, come on out and have a great LAKE ARROWHEAD Weekend.

10 FUN THINGS TO DO IN LAKE ARROWHEAD & Other Mountain Towns

...blue skies, fresh air, the smell of pines & cedars.
There is no way you can be bored when you live in, or come visit, the San Bernardino Mountains; be it Lake Arrowhead, Crestline, Running Springs or Big Bear, because there are always places to go and things to do. Below I've touched on 10 of my favorites places to go. So come on up, and come on out.

1. Take a tour on THE ARROWHEAD QUEEN Paddle Boat.
2. Head to the ICE CASTLE TRAINING CENTER and have a blast ice-skating
3. Learn to Water-ski at (summer) MCKENZIE WATER SKI SCHOOL
4. Stroll around LAKE ARROWHEAD VILLAGE and do some shopping & dining.
5. Do a little fishing at GREEN VALLEY LAKE
6. See what kind of score you can get at RIM BOWLING
7. TAKE the kids to THE NATIONAL CHILDRENS FOREST for a hike
8. Visit one of the FIRE LOOKOUTS
9. Make a stop at the RIM OF THE WORLD HISTORICAL MUSEUM
10. Pack up the family and head to the BIG BEAR DISCOVERY CENTER

FOLLOW THE STAR, A Living Nativity ~ December 22, 2012

Lake Arrowhead, even in the winter, always has something special going on! And this weekend is no exception.

Please bring the family out for FOLLOW THE STAR, A Living Nativity at WILDHAVEN RANCH.  Kids and adults will love it. You'll want to bundle up, though, as the weather has been pretty nippy.

WINTER FUN IN LAKE ARROWHEAD

Just because Old Man winter is here, doesn't mean we don't have fun in Lake Arrowhead. We do!
Below I've added a few things you can do while visiting the local mountains. So, bundle up, come on up and have some winter fun!


1. National Forest Association of San Bernardino, spring, summer, fall and WINTER our forest folks always have something exciting to offer. Check it out.
2.Rim Nordic cross county skiing OR regular skiing at one of our local mountain resorts.
3. WildHaven : Their motto is "Preserving wildlife helps heal the human spirit." and it's easy to see that they mean it, when you visit this awesome place.
4.Lake Arrowhead Village: Take a casual walk around the Village, shop and dine or...
5. Take a tour on the Arrowhead Queen. On the tour you'll learn so much information about Lake Arrowhead, but especially the "movie stars" of yesteryear!
6. Rim Bowling: Okay, now this really is a year round activity... what are you waiting for?

See! So many things to do in Lake Arrowhead and other mountain communities. ;-)

Thanksgiving Week in Lake Arrowhead ~ Nov 2012

Thanksgiving Week in Lake Arrowhead! Can you believe that we're already in the Holiday season? Me either! Where does time go? Honestly, though, this is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the cool, crisp air, yummy goodies being baked and shared, and the smiling folks lucky enough to live on our mountain or to have a mountain cabin to sneak up to every chance they get. If you're up on the mountain this Holiday week, enjoy yourself. Take a trip to The Village and do some Christmas shopping, grab a meal at one of our local restaurants or take a stroll around Lake Gregory.
