FAVORITE BREAKFAST PLACES IN LAKE ARROWHEAD

Your Lake Arrowhead Realtor would like to share some local Lake Arrowhead Information with you.

There are a lotta folks up here in Lake Arrowhead for the holidays. And many, like me, love eating breakfast out. If you're a breakfast-eater-outer, here are some of my faves here in our local mountains:

  • BELGIAN WAFFLE WORKS, at The Village, lakeside. OMgosh..their waffles melt in your mouth. Really, literally! They don't just have waffles, though.

  • BILL'S VILLAGER in Blue Jay is a down to earth & home cookin' at its best. Very low key, big old booths and loads of friendly service. Smack dab in the center of Blue Jay, you can't miss it.

  • CEDAR GLEN INN, in Cedar Glen also is a down to earth, wear your old jeans kind of place. The food is home cookin' and HUGE helpings. You will NOT go away hungry. Map & Directions

DON'T GET CAUGHT WITH YOUR PIPES DOWN!

Winter is here, so I want to remind you mountain folks that it is time (past time, in fact) to winterize your mountain home, if you haven't already. We've had some really COLD temps and, let's face it, you just can trust Mother Nature.

Below are a few tips to get your Lake Arrowhead (mountain) home"prepared" for "Old Man Winter."
****************************Winterize
Fireplace: Time for a CHIMNEY SWEEP to come check out your fireplace & make sure it is not only clean, but safe.
Roof: Is your roof ready for rain and snow?
Landscaping: Sprinklers (irrigation systems) should be turned off and hoses drained.
Pipes! Make sure exposed pipes are "wrapped." These problems can be so expensive IF they freeze , they may burst.
Weekend cabin/home: If you're a part-timer, make sure you drain your pipes before heading home, and turn off the water. A SHUT OFF VALVE is an awesome item to have installed.
Doors and Windows: Weather-stripping and caulking should be your best friend!
Gutters: Clean out leaves and pine-needles.
Power Outages: In case the power goes out (and it can!): Make sure you have plenty of candles, extra flashlights, loads of batteries & a lantern or two, and matches. Generators are always helpful.
Snow Equipment: Place your snow shovels in an easy-to-get-to spot. If you have a snow blower, it's a great time to take it for a "check up." Call ME for a list of companies who plow driveways, etc.
Food and Drinking Water: Bottled water and can(non-perishable) goods should be on hand (3-4 days...just in case)
